About

Our editorial desk works to a fixed sequence. A product enters the queue because a reader question, a price movement or a material claim makes it worth checking. Priya Raman opens a research file: supplier documentation, listed dimensions, material composition, price history and the retail channels offering it. Nadia Verhoeven then approves or rejects the file, and approved files go to the order list.

We order the product ourselves, at retail, using the desk's own payment card. The parcel is opened at the testing bench in Rotterdam and logged with a timestamp. The product stays in its labelled tray with its packaging, receipt and any paperwork until the review is filed. Tom Ashcroft completes the scoring sheet — unboxing, dimensions, materials, fit or wear period, comparison table, purchase timing — before a single word of the review is drafted and before any affiliate link is generated.

Every product featured in a review on this site was ordered by our team and handled at the bench. Where a claim comes from a supplier rather than from our own handling, the review says so in the sentence that makes the claim. Where two reference items disagree with the product, the comparison table shows the disagreement rather than smoothing it out.

Scores follow the five-point scale published on this site. Editors do not adjust a score to match a price point, a season or a commission rate. Corrections are handled under the corrections policy. Author pages are the only profile links we maintain, and every review carries the name of the editor who filed it.
